GP Earnings 2015/16

(published February 2017)

It is a contractual requirement for Medical Practices to publish on their Practice website, by the end of the financial year, (ie 31 March 2017), the mean earnings (average pay), for all GPs who were working to deliver NHS services to patients during the previous financial year (ie 2015/16).

The average pay for GPs working for six months or more in the Goring & Woodcote Medical Practice for the financial year 2015/16 before tax and national insurance was £57,043.  This was for 4 full time and 5 part-time GPs and no locum GPs who worked more than six months.

Community Nurses

District nurses, health visitors and midwife work from our two surgeries.  They are not employed by the Practice.

District Nurses offer nursing care to our patients in the community, deal with prolonged illness and help with rehabilitation. They can help and offer advice to carers.  Patients who are housebound or who require palliative or end of life care are looked after by the District Nurses.  The District Nurses have an office at our Goring Surgery, but are not employed by the Practice.  They work for Oxford Health.
